Scott and Shayna first climbed Kilimanjaro in 2015 when they were on their six-month Africa overland trip. When in Tanzania, Scott decided he would climb Africa’s tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro with Shayna. There was one problem, though: Shayna had absolutely no prior climbing experience, while Scott had already attempted other mountains. After some coaxing, Shayna agreed. On November 7, 2015, the duo summited Mount Kilimanjaro, making it Shayna’s very first summit ever and their first joint summit of the seven continental summits.
